Today we’re excited to share a new activity that is filling our education sessions with energy and joy: a children’s song designed to complement our TITI SHOW programs. Be sure to watch the accompanying video, where you’ll see children singing, jumping, laughing, and becoming true SalvaTitíes!
A Song That Reinforces the Message
After participating in our education program and learning about how you can help cotton-top tamarins— we invite participants to stand up, form a circle, and begin to sing. Through clapping, jumping, gestures, and playful changes in voice, children don’t just hear the message — they feel it and live it. Music, rhythm, and movement activate multiple senses, helping strengthen understanding and long-term retention of key conservation concepts. Repetition in both loud and soft tones captures attention, while physical gestures serve as “anchors” that help children remember each conservation action.
Seven Actions to Save the Cotton-top Tamarin
The song is built around seven concrete actions that empower children to become guardians of the forest:
1. Never disturb or harm cotton-top tamarins.
2. Teach friends and family that tamarins are not pets.
3. Never keep a cotton-top tamarin as a pet.
4. Leave them free in the forest — their only true home.
5. Plant trees to protect their habitat.
6. Never capture, buy, or sell tamarins.
7. Report to Proyecto Tití or environmental authorities if you see a tamarin in someone’s house.
Each number is sung with enthusiasm and paired with movements that symbolize protection, freedom, tree planting, and courage. At the end, everyone proudly declares: “We are SalvaTitíes!”
More Than a Song — A Commitment
This song is more than a fun activity. It is a participatory educational tool that integrates science, culture, and play, strengthening children’s sense of belonging and collective responsibility. When children sing, “Titi, titi, they must be free!” they are affirming something powerful: the forest is the only home where cotton-top tamarins belong.
Rhythm creates joy.
Joy creates connection.
And connection inspires action.
By repeating clear calls to action like “report it right away” and “teach others,” children internalize that they have the power to make a difference. They see themselves as part of the solution.
A Generation Singing for Conservation
In every jump and every clap, we see something extraordinary: children who are not only learning about cotton-top tamarins, but committing to their future. When a song becomes a mantra, when play becomes awareness, and when music becomes action, we know we are planting more than trees — we are growing a generation of forest guardians.
Watch the video and sing along with us: “We are SalvaTitíes— with seven actions we will help them thrive!”
